Project EnergyConnect (PEC), NSW

Elecnor has been contracted to build EnergyConnect, a new 700km transmission line extending from Wagga Wagga NSW to the South Australian border. This backbone infrastructure will connect customers with more renewable energy enabling a further 4950MW of generation capacity, save NSW customers $180 million a year and create 1,500 new construction jobs in regional NSW. Construction of EnergyConnect is underway in various locations across the project area.

Elecnor’s scope includes:

- The construction of two new 330kV transmission lines and one new 500kV transmission line.

- A rebuild of an existing 220kV transmission line.

- An expansion and upgrade of the existing Buronga substation- A new substation known as Dinawan, located between Jerilderie and Coleambally.

- An expansion of the existing Wagga Wagga substation.

EnergyConnect, once completed, will be Australia’s largest interconnector in the Australian National Electricity Market (NEM). 

Connections of Renewable assets

Elecnor Australia has successfully delivered the connections of its renewable energy projects such as: a 33/66kV substation and 7 kilometres of overhead transmission lines for Moree Solar Farm; a 33/275kV substation and 5km of 275kV underground transmission lines for Port Augusta Wind Farm. Elecnor Australia is currently delivering the following connections:  a 33/330kV substation for New England Solar Farm; a 33/132kV substation and 15km of 132kV overhead transmission lines for Flyers Creek Wind Farm; a 33/275kV substation, and 34.2km of 275kV overhead transmission lines for Goyder Wind Farm. A 33/275 kV Substations and 200m Transmission line for Blyth BESS.

Delivery partner of Transmission Network Service Providers

Elecnor Australia is part of the delivery partner panel of the major Transmission Network Service Providers to provide services in their prescribed business.
